Flight Of My Drone

OK my homies and homettes, for father’s day, my lovely daughter gave me a drone as a gift. I previously owned a couple of remote control helicopters, but the thing about owning a drone in New York City is, that it is illegal to fly them anywhere, and I mean anywhere in Manhattan, where I live.

But first, before everything is said and done, I have pay five dollars to register my drone as The Exception for Recreational Flyers at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website FAADroneZone for three years. Then I have to mark my aircraft with the assigned unique registration number given to me by the administration and carry proof of registration with me. Finally, I can only fly it in five specific parks in the city… remember, none in Manhattan. So that means that I have to drive about 35 minutes out to the closest park to me, which is Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, out in Queens.

But wait, there’s more! As you might know by now, The American government, never makes it easy for us civilians to enjoy anything, so they have other laws that I have to follow when flying my drone, which you can read by clicking here plus I have to download their B4Ufly App. In other words, I can become a pilot and fly a 747, before I’m able to fly my drone in New York City.

With that said, I’m Audi 5000 y’all!
