Flight Of My Drone

OK my homies and homettes, for father’s day, my lovely daughter gave me a drone as a gift. I previously owned a couple of remote control helicopters, but the thing about owning a drone in New York City is, that it is illegal to fly them anywhere, and I mean anywhere in Manhattan, where I live.

But first, before everything is said and done, I have pay five dollars to register my drone as The Exception for Recreational Flyers at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website FAADroneZone for three years. Then I have to mark my aircraft with the assigned unique registration number given to me by the administration and carry proof of registration with me. Finally, I can only fly it in five specific parks in the city… remember, none in Manhattan. So that means that I have to drive about 35 minutes out to the closest park to me, which is Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, out in Queens.

But wait, there’s more! As you might know by now, The American government, never makes it easy for us civilians to enjoy anything, so they have other laws that I have to follow when flying my drone, which you can read by clicking here plus I have to download their B4Ufly App. In other words, I can become a pilot and fly a 747, before I’m able to fly my drone in New York City.

With that said, I’m Audi 5000 y’all!

It Is What It Is

OK my homies and homettes, since my wife and kids don’t enjoy the same things that I enjoy… like nature, I decided that from now on, I’m not going to let that get in the way of me enjoying them by myself. So yesterday morning, I took a drive down to a park in Manhattan, that is next to The Hudson river, by The George Washington bridge and relaxed there a for a while.

I also did some shopping by myself and I was surprised to see other men doing the same by themselves. So I guess that what I’m trying to say is, that I’m going to start getting out on my own more often, on the weekends. Instead of bitching and moaning about feeling alone. I’m just going to find a way to enjoy my alone time, which so many people don’t get to do very often.
